# Personalised Remedies

`POST /v1/astro/remedies`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.asterwise.com`
- URL: `https://api.asterwise.com/v1/astro/remedies`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Prescribes personalised Vedic remedies based on planetary dignity in the natal chart. Prioritises debilitated planets, planets in enemy signs, dusthana lords (6th/8th/12th house rulers), planets placed in those houses, and combust planets; is_dusthana_lord, in_dusthana_house and is_combust say which. Returns mantras, gemstones, colours, fasting days, and daily actions. Request JSON follows BirthInput: `name`, `date`, `time`, `location` or `latitude`/`longitude`/`timezone`, `ayanamsa`. Plus `top_n` (1–9) to cap how many planets receive remedy rows.

## Request body

- RemediesRequest: Personalised remedies — extends :class:`TimedBirthInput` with ``top_n``. Birth fields: ``name``, ``date``, ``time``, ``location`` or ``latitude``/``longitude``/ ``timezone``, ``ayanamsa``. Additional: ``top_n`` (1–9).
  - `location` string, nullable: City name to resolve to lat/lon/tz automatically. Example: 'Mumbai' or 'New Delhi, India'. If provided, latitude, longitude and timezone are not required.
  - `name` string: Person name associated with the birth record
  - `date` string, required: Birth date in YYYY-MM-DD format
  - `time` string, required: Birth time in HH:MM 24-hour format. Required: this endpoint has no sunrise fallback.
  - `latitude` number, nullable: Latitude. Required if location not provided.
  - `longitude` number, nullable: Longitude. Required if location not provided.
  - `timezone` string, nullable: IANA timezone. Required if location not provided (unless utc_offset is given). For dates before the zone adopted a standard time, the birthplace's local mean time (longitude / 15 hours) is used.
  - `utc_offset` string, nullable: Optional explicit UTC offset of the birth time, as ±HH:MM or ±HH:MM:SS (e.g. '+04:51:31' for Bombay mean time). Overrides the offset `timezone` would give. Use it when the birth record states the offset, or for historical local times the IANA database cannot represent.
  - `ayanamsa` 'lahiri' | 'raman' | 'kp' | 'tropical': Sidereal ayanamsa mode used in calculations
  - `top_n` integer: Max planets to prescribe remedies for (1-9)

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- ApiResponseRemediesResponse
  - `success` boolean: True if the request succeeded
  - `message` string: Human-readable status message
  - `data` RemediesResponse, required
    - `birth_time_provided` boolean: True when a birth time was supplied. False when it was not: house, Ascendant and Moon-dependent results then carry the accuracy limits of an unknown birth time.
    - `recommended_remedies` object[], required: One row per planet needing a remedy, highest priority first. Keys: planet, dignity, rashi, house, is_dusthana_lord (the planet rules the 6th, 8th or 12th sign from the lagna — lordship only), in_dusthana_house (the planet is placed in the 6th, 8th or 12th house), is_combust (within the Sun's combustion orb, from the combustion engine; a combust planet that is not strongly placed gets dusthana-level priority), reason, mantra, repetitions, deity, gemstone, colour, metal, fast_day, charity, action_daily, action_weekly.
    - `planet_dignities` object[], required
