Search NIH RePORTER: research grants and contracts funded by NIH (and AHRQ, CDC, FDA, HRSA and the VA), the last ten fiscal years NIH has published yearly files for, with each project's title, abstract, public health relevance, institute, activity code, organization, principal investigators, project and budget periods and the fiscal year's total cost. Find by words (title, abstract, terms), project number, PubMed ID (the projects NIH links to that paper), organization, investigator, institute code, activity code and fiscal year; newest fiscal year first. A project appears once per fiscal year it was funded. Call read_nih_grant for the abstract and the PubMed IDs of the papers NIH links to the project.

## Query parameters

- `query` string: Words in the title, abstract, terms or public health relevance, e.g. "CAR-T solid tumor" or "GLP-1 obesity adolescents".
- `projectNumber` string: An NIH project number, core or full, e.g. "R01CA123456" or "5R01CA123456-07".
- `pmid` string: A PubMed ID: the projects NIH links to that paper, e.g. "39370451".
- `organization` string: The funded institution, e.g. "University of Pennsylvania".
- `investigator` string: A principal investigator's name, as RePORTER writes it ("LAST, FIRST"), e.g. "June, Carl".
- `institute` string: The administering institute's code, e.g. "CA" (NCI), "AI" (NIAID), "HL" (NHLBI), "DK" (NIDDK).
- `activity` string: The activity code, e.g. "R01", "U01", "R43" (SBIR), "P30".
- `fiscalYear` integer: One fiscal year, e.g. 2024.
- `yearFrom` integer: Fiscal years from this one.
- `yearTo` integer: Fiscal years up to this one.
- `limit` integer: Projects to return, default 8.
- `offset` integer: Skip this many results (for paging), default 0.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is not valid: an unknown parameter or an argument the source refuses.
- `404`: No such source or record.
- `429`: Rate limited; retry after the Retry-After header.
- `503`: The source cannot answer from Assyro's copy right now.
