# Search EMA

`GET /v1/sources/ema/search`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.assyro.com`
- URL: `https://api.assyro.com/v1/sources/ema/search`
- Auth: none declared

Search the European Medicines Agency's published data files, as of Assyro's last sync of them (EMA regenerates them twice a day). Collections: medicines (centrally authorised human and veterinary medicines: status, INN, active substance, therapeutic area, ATC, marketing authorisation holder, authorisation dates, orphan/biosimilar/generic/conditional flags, therapeutic indication), epar-documents (EPAR documents: overviews, product information, assessment reports, RMP summaries), guidelines (EMA scientific and regulatory-procedural guideline documents, including ICH and draft guidelines under consultation), guidance-pages (EMA guidance and information web pages, including the scientific-guideline pages), orphan-designations, pips (paediatric investigation plans), psusas (PSUR single assessments), shortages, and dhpcs (direct healthcare professional communications). Returns up to 10 records with an EMA page link. Document records (EPAR documents, guidelines) carry the title, type, reference number, dates and PDF link, not the PDF text; guidance pages carry their title and summary. Covers the EU centralised procedure only: it is not national (member-state) authorisation data and not FDA data. Call read_ema_record for all facts of a record before relying on it.

## Query parameters

- `query` string, required: Words to find in the title, facts and text, e.g. "natalizumab", "bioequivalence guideline", "Ozempic shortage". "quoted phrases", OR and -exclusions work.
- `collections` string[]: Keep only these collections (any of them). Omit to search all.
- `dateFrom` string: Earliest record date, YYYY, YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD (inclusive). The date is the authorisation date for a medicine, the designation or decision date for orphans and PIPs, and the first-published date otherwise. Records without a date are left out when a date bound is given.
- `dateTo` string: Latest record date, YYYY, YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD (inclusive: "2024" means through 2024-12-31).
- `sort` 'relevance' | 'newest': 'relevance' (default) or 'newest' for the most recently published first.
- `limit` integer: Records to return, default 8.
- `offset` integer: Skip this many results (for paging), default 0.
