# Delete document

`DELETE /v1/documents/{documentId}`

Delete a document by its ID. Only documents in a deletable status can be removed (see GET /v1/documents/statuses).

Document deleted

- object — Standard success wrapper. Operations add their own `data`.

- `401` — Missing or invalid credentials.
- `404` — The requested resource does not exist.
