# Remove From Version Stack

`POST /assets/versions/remove`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.aspect.inc`
- URL: `https://api.aspect.inc/assets/versions/remove`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Remove an asset from its version stack.

The asset becomes standalone (version fields set to NULL). If only one
asset remains in the stack, the stack is dissolved and that asset also
becomes standalone.

Returns 409 with conflict details if the removed asset's name conflicts
with an existing item in its parent directory.

## Request body

- RemoveFromVersionStackRequest: API request to remove an asset from its version stack
  - `asset_id` string, uuid, required: ID of the asset to remove from its version stack

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- RemoveFromVersionStackResponse: API response for removing an asset from its version stack
  - `stack_dissolved` boolean, required: True if only one asset was left, so the stack was dissolved

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation Error
