KETIKA LIMA — the Malay Five Times: the oldest and best-known system of lucky and unlucky times in the Malay world, the reckoning of the Kitab Tib manuscripts and the pawang's craft — the day divided into five watches (pagi, tengah naik, tengah hari, tengah turun, petang), five days forming a cycle, each watch ruled in rotation by a deity the peninsula kept from its pre-Islamic centuries: Maswara (Shiva), Kala, S'ri, Brahma, Bisnu (Vishnu) — Maswara's yellow-white watch lucky for boons, Kala's reddish-black watch when even the cockpit lore says the black cock wins. THE CATALOGUE'S FIRST MALAY SYSTEM. TWO WITNESSES CELL FOR CELL: W. W. Skeat's Malay Magic (1900, public domain) against the modern scholarly record of the Malay divination manuscripts (the Mizan survey) — and THE GRID IS A CIRCULANT LATIN SQUARE, proven at load: the formula cell(day, slot) = deity[(slot − day) mod 5] reproduces all 25 printed cells, every deity one watch per day, one march through each slot per cycle. HONEST EDGES KEPT HONEST: the five-day cycle's civil anchor is the practitioner's own count (Skeat ties the habit to the Javanese pasaran but prints no alignment — so none is invented); the slots' clock bounds are unfixed in the sources (the hour mapping is a labeled convenience); the sibling Sa'at Lima and Katika Tujoh are NAMED for their own pass. Malay tradition opens. Pure compute, no LLM.
