# Quote a list check

`POST /api/v1/verifications/quote`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.argorant.com`

Send the emails of your own list (up to 5,000 rows, 1,000 different addresses) and get the most the check can cost. Addresses checked recently are free. Nothing is charged and nothing is checked yet. Show `maximum_charge` to the user and start only after their yes.

  - `emails` string[], required: The addresses to check.

## Response `200`

OK

- VerificationQuote
  - `quote_id` string: Pass to start the check. Valid for 15 minutes.
  - `expires_at` string, date-time: When the quote ends.
  - `unique_addresses` integer: Different addresses on the list.
  - `to_check` integer: Addresses that need a fresh check, half a credit each.
  - `checked_recently_free` integer: Addresses checked recently, free.
  - `duplicates_removed` integer: Repeated addresses left out.
  - `invalid_rows` integer[]: Row numbers that are not an email address.
  - `maximum_charge` integer: The most this check can cost, in credits.
  - `credits_per_check` number: Credits per fresh check (0.5).
  - `approval_required` boolean: Always true. Start only after the person said yes to maximum_charge.
  - `next_step` string: What to do next.

## Other responses

- `400`: 400 Bad request. `invalid_request` when no valid address, or more than 1,000 different addresses.
- `401`: 401 Unauthorized. `unauthorized` when the API key is missing, wrong or revoked.
- `403`: 403 Forbidden. `scope_missing` when the key lacks argorant:verify_emails.
- `409`: 409 Conflict. `idempotency_conflict` when the Idempotency-Key was used with another body.
- `422`: 422 Validation error. `validation_error` when a field has the wrong type or is missing.
- `429`: 429 Too many requests. `rate_limited` when too many requests this minute.
