# Estimate the credit cost of rendering a Video

`GET /videos/{id}/estimate`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.argil.ai/v1`
- URL: `https://api.argil.ai/v1/videos/{id}/estimate`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Returns the credit cost of a render started right now, without debiting or starting one. The numbers match POST /videos/{id}/render. Creation costs (speech synthesis and other work already done while building the project) are not included. `newBalance` may be negative; this route still returns 200.

- `id` string, uuid, required: The id of the Video to estimate

## Response `200`

Render quote and the workspace balance

- RenderEstimate
  - `videoCost` integer, required: Lipsync credits for a render started now
  - `brollCost` integer, required: Image and stock b-roll credits
  - `brollAnimationCost` integer, required: Seedance animation credits
  - `totalCost` integer, required: Sum of the three buckets. This is what POST /videos/{id}/render debits.
  - `currentBalance` integer, required: Workspace credit balance
  - `newBalance` integer, required: currentBalance minus totalCost. May be negative.

## Other responses

- `400`: The project cannot be rendered (for example it has no moments)
- `403`: The API key cannot read this video
- `404`: Video not found
