# Create Group

`POST /api/community/dms/group`

Open a named group with colleagues who can themselves enter the community.

The same §1 gate as ``open_dm``: you cannot put an account in a group it
could not read. A named user who is not a member 404s rather than being
dropped silently, because a group that quietly opened with two of the three
people you picked is worse than one that refused.

- GroupCreate: A member-created group conversation. The title is REQUIRED and is not derived from the roster. A group named by its members renames itself every time somebody is added, and a conversation that renames itself is a different conversation to the person reading it -- the same reasoning the case-room ``title`` column was added under.
