# Create a cloud computer for a Reason

`POST /v3/organizations/{orgId}/reasons/{reasonId}/computers`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.reasonmachines.com`
- URL: `https://api.reasonmachines.com/v3/organizations/{orgId}/reasons/{reasonId}/computers`

Makes a new cloud computer under the Reason for the caller. Nothing boots or bills until a Session runs on it: pass its `id` as `computer_id` when creating the Session. Idempotent by `request_id`.

## Request body

- CreateReasonComputer: A new cloud computer of the Reason. Nothing boots or bills until a Session runs on it (`computer_id`).
  - `request_id` string, required: Idempotency key: repeating a create with the same request_id returns the computer it made (200) instead of another.
  - `size` string: A cloud size the workspace offers (`cloud_sizes`); the workspace default when omitted.
  - `name` string: 1 to 80 characters; a generated name when omitted.

## Response `200`

A computer this `request_id` already made.

## Other responses

- `201`: The new computer, as `{ computer }`.
- `400`: Invalid request.
- `401`: Missing, invalid, or expired key.
- `403`: The key lacks the required scope or role.
- `404`: Resource not found.
- `409`: The workspace's plan has no cloud computers, or this Reason's Sessions each keep their own computer; the body names which.
- `429`: Too many requests. Retry after the number of seconds in the `Retry-After` response header.
- `503`: Session writes are disabled.
