# Archive a Reason

`POST /v3/organizations/{orgId}/reasons/{reasonId}/archive`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.reasonmachines.com`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Deletes a named Reason, as deleteReason does: it leaves the list, its Loops are deleted, its own Slack app is removed, and its conversation is archived, not deleted, and keeps its history.

## Response `200`

Success.

- object
  - `ok` true, required: Always true: the operation succeeded.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing, invalid, or expired key.
- `403`: The key lacks the required scope or role.
- `404`: Resource not found.
- `409`: The main Reason cannot be archived (`main_reason_kept`).
- `429`: Too many requests. Retry after the number of seconds in the `Retry-After` response header.
