# Delete a memory file

`DELETE /v3/organizations/{orgId}/memory/file`

## Request

Deletes one note. The deletion is a revision like any other change, so the note can be restored from memory history in Settings. `MEMORY.md` cannot be deleted (400); rewrite it shorter instead. Team notes take deletes only from a Workspace owner or admin.

Deleted.

  - `scope` 'personal' | 'team': `personal`: the memory of the person the API key or OAuth grant belongs to, private to them. `team`: the Workspace's shared team memory, which every member's Sessions read.

- `400`: Invalid request.
- `401`: Missing, invalid, or expired key.
- `403`: The key lacks the required scope or role.
- `404`: Resource not found.
- `409`: The request conflicts with the current resource state.
- `429`: Too many requests. Retry after the number of seconds in the `Retry-After` response header.
