# Tracked Applications - Create

`POST /user/tracked_applications`

Start tracking an application with the API. <br/><br/> <b>Price</b> <table> <thead><tr><th>Datapoint</th><th>Description</th><th>Credits/request</th></tr></thead> <tbody> <tr><td><b>-</b></td><td>The tracking entry created, with its id</td><td>1</td></tr> </tbody> </table> <br/><br/> <b>Good to know</b> <br/><br/> &bull; A tracked app is defined by an app id, country code, language code and device. Following the same app in Google Play in the US for English &amp; Spanish will count as 2 tracked apps.<br/>&bull; Tracking an app will prioritize its data retrieval. The result may take up to 24 - 48 hours to show after you start following the app.<br/>&bull; Tracked apps are linked to your user and API token, and the number of apps that you're allowed to track depends on your API plan.

## Request body

- object
  - `application_id` string, required: App ID to be tracked. Only 1 app ID can be passed.
  - `country` string: Two-letter country code (`us`, `gb`, `fr`). Accepted values: <a href="https://developers.apptweak.com/reference/countries-1" target="_blank"><code>GET /api/public/apptweak/countries</code></a> with `store=ios` or `store=android`. Defaults to `us` when omitted.
  - `language` string: AppTweak language code, not always ISO: US English is `us`, US Spanish `sp`. Accepted pairs: <a href="https://developers.apptweak.com/reference/languages-1" target="_blank"><code>GET /api/public/apptweak/languages</code></a> with `store=ios` or `store=android`. Defaults to the country's <a href="https://developers.apptweak.com/reference/languages-overview#default-language" target="_blank"><b>default language</b></a>.
  - `device` 'iphone' | 'ipad' | 'android': The device for which the application will be tracked. If not specified, the default device for the provided application_id's store will be used.

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized. Unknown or missing API token.
- `403`: Forbidden. Returned when there are not enough credits to perform the request, or when the account has already reached the maximum number of tracked applications allowed by its API plan.
- `422`: Validation error. Returned when the request body is empty or contains a property other than `application_id`, `country`, `language` and `device`, when the application is already tracked, or when the tracked application cannot be created with the provided values.
