# Create a new vector collection

`POST /vectors`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://apipie.ai`
- URL: `https://apipie.ai/vectors`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Creates a new vector collection with the specified name and dimension. (equivalent to creating an index and namespace on pinecone)

## Request body

- CreateCollectionRequest
  - `collection_name` string
  - `dimension` integer
  - `vector_provider` 'pinecone' | 'qdrant': Vector provider to use to store the collection

## Response `200`

Collection created successfully

- CreateCollectionResponse
  - `message` string

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `404`: Collection not found
- `500`: Internal server error
