# Change Plan

Switch between paid plans (Pro/Ultra/Mega) directly via Stripe API.

The Stripe Customer Portal can't host this flow because all our paid plans
are monthly prices on a single product, and the portal's plan-switcher
requires distinct products per plan tier. Calling Subscription.modify
directly with create_prorations gives the customer a one-click upgrade
without leaving our settings page.

Free→paid still goes through /billing/checkout (no existing sub to modify).
Paid→Free still goes through the Stripe portal (cancellation flow).
