# Instagram User Profile

`GET /v1/instagram/user`

## Request

Look up a single Instagram user by username or profile URL. Returns biography, follower / following counts, media count, business category, external link, bio links, public email and phone number when the account lists them, verification status, and "About this account" info (country the account is based in, join date, verification date, and how many former usernames it has had). Provide exactly one of `username` or `url`.

**Price:** $0.006 per request. **Free tier:** 50 requests/month.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request: missing both parameters, both provided, or a value too long
- `401`: Unauthorized: invalid or missing API key
- `402`: Free tier used up for this endpoint and no payment method on file (`payment_required`).
- `403`: Account blocked after a failed payment (`account_blocked`).
- `404`: Instagram user not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded or too many concurrent requests
- `500`: Internal server error
- `502`: Temporary failure retrieving Instagram data. Please retry shortly.
- `503`: Service temporarily unavailable. Please retry shortly.
- `504`: The request timed out
