# Create an anonymous sync code.

`POST /accounts`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://animalchecklist.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://animalchecklist.com/api/v1/accounts`
- Auth: none required

Creates one anonymous account and answers its sync code. The code is the only credential and is never shown again. An agent calls this only when the person asked for a sync code, and never stores or prints it. Limit: 20 requests per IP per hour.

The new sync code.

- `400`: Invalid input.
- `404`: Not found.
- `429`: Rate limited.
- `500`: Unexpected error.
