# Get Task Metadata (Legacy)

`GET /v1/task/{taskId}`

Retrieves task metadata without the code content. Useful for getting task information
without downloading the full task code.

If you are using the new Task Builder, see the Tasks V2 endpoints in this API reference.

## Path parameters

- `taskId` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

Task metadata retrieved successfully

- TaskMetadataResponse
  - `data` TaskMetadata
    - `id` string, uuid, required — Unique identifier for the task
    - `name` string, required — Task name
    - `teamId` string, uuid, required — Team identifier that owns this task
    - `description` string — Optional description of the task
    - `latest` string, required — Latest version identifier
    - `deleted` boolean, required — Whether the task is soft deleted
    - `createdAt` string, date-time, required — Task creation timestamp
    - `updatedAt` string, date-time, required — Task last update timestamp

## Other responses

- `404` — Task not found
- `500` — Failed to retrieve task
