# Run the scan_catalog_folders task on a catalog

`POST /catalogs/{catalog_id}/scan`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://develop.ampache.dev/rest/8/json`
- URL: `https://develop.ampache.dev/rest/8/json/catalogs/{catalog_id}/scan`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `auth`
  - API key in query parameter `auth`

Convenience alias of `catalog_action` with `task=scan_catalog_folders`. The task is taken from the path, so no `task` parameter is sent.
