Read when orienting on what a workspace holds before composing a search: live row counts and time spans for each queryable warehouse surface (conversations, CRM deals, per-company deal qualification), computed through the governed query gate. A surface whose read fails reports null rather than zero, so an outage is never mistaken for an empty corpus.
