# Start Research

`POST /api/platform/v1/research`

Start a research job: a read-only investigation of one question over this workspace's own calls, CRM accounts and deals that settles on one cited answer. Use when a question needs several reads and a written synthesis that a single search cannot give. Returns a research_id at once; read it with wait_ms until it settles. The job may pause with a clarifying question, and at its budget it finishes with a partial answer marked partial.

## Request body

- object
  - `question` string, required: The question, in plain language.
  - `context` string: Optional background the job should know: who the answer is for, what you already know, the decision it feeds. Read as context, never as the question.
  - `allow_questions` boolean: Allow the job to pause and ask you a clarifying question when the question is ambiguous in a way that changes the answer. Default true. Set false when nobody can answer; the job then proceeds on its best reading and states the assumption.
