# Answer Research Question

`POST /api/platform/v1/research/{research_id}/respond`

## Request

  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Answer the clarifying question a research job paused on, and resume the job. Use when a research read shows status needs_input: send your answer as text, or pass option_id to pick one of the listed choices. The job resumes from where it paused and reads as running.

## Path parameters

- `research_id` string, uuid, required: The research_id research.start returned.

## Request body

- object
  - `answer` string, required: Your answer. For a multiple-choice question, the label of your choice works.
  - `option_id` string: Optional: the id of a listed choice (question_for_you.options). `other` sends the answer as a write-in.
