# EU VAT Number Validator

`GET /v1/eu-vat-validate`

## Request

Check whether an EU VAT number is valid and active. Returns validity, registered name and address where the member state publishes them.

## Query parameters

- `vat` string, required: VAT number with country prefix, e.g. DK10150817. Spaces and dots are ignored. Greece uses EL, Northern Ireland XI.
- `free` '1'

## Response `200`

Result (JSON). Every result names its source and the time it was read.

- `400`: Invalid input; not charged.
- `402`: Payment required: 0.003 USD in USDC (x402 v2).
