# Updates an existing general appointment

`PATCH /appointments/general/{appointmentId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.alto.zoopladev.co.uk`
- URL: `https://api.alto.zoopladev.co.uk/appointments/general/{appointmentId}`
- Auth: `appAuth` (a scheme the document does not define)

Updates a general appointment with any of the following fields supported for update:
- /startDate ie. The start date and time in ISO 8601 format to update against the requested general appointment
- /endDate ie. The end date and time in ISO 8601 format to update against the requested general appointment
- /negotiatorIds ie. An array of all negotiators' unique identifiers to be associated against the requested general appointment
            
Required scope: alto/write:appointments_general

## Request body

- GeneralAppointmentPatchOperation[]: Array of operations to perform
  - `op` 'replace'
  - `value` string
  - `path` '/startDate' | '/endDate' | '/negotiatorIds' | '/status'

## Response `200`

Returns an object with a flag indicating a successful update

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation error e.g. invalid date range selection or unsupported patch path/value.
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Invalid scope or AgencyRef for request.
- `404`: Appointment requesting to be updated does not exist against the requested AgencyRef
- `500`: Internal Server Error
