# Get Chat Messages

`GET /api/publisher/{publisher_id}/chat/messages`

## Request

- Auth: none required

Get chat messages for a publisher chat room with pagination.

Access rules:
- Only monetized publishers have chatrooms.
- Publisher owner always has access to their own chatroom.
- Active subscribers (via Stripe) get full chat access.
- Non-subscribers receive a structured 403 with pricing and access instructions.

Args:
    publisher_id: Publisher ID (username) or actual publisher ID
    limit: Maximum number of messages to return (default 25, max 100)
    before: Message ID to paginate before (for loading older messages)
    current_user: Authenticated user (from JWT token)

Returns:
    ChatMessagesResponse with messages and pagination info

## Path parameters

- `publisher_id` string, required: Publisher UUID

## Query parameters

- `limit` integer: Results per page
- `before` string, nullable: Cursor for pagination (message ID)

## Response `200`
