# Cancel a Pending Journal

`DELETE /v1/journals/{journal_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://broker-api.giftcity.sandbox.in.alpaca.markets`
- URL: `https://broker-api.giftcity.sandbox.in.alpaca.markets/v1/journals/{journal_id}`
- Auth: HTTP basic

You can only delete a journal if the journal is still in a pending state, if a journal is executed you will not be able to delete. The alternative is to create a mirror journal entry to reverse the flow of funds.

## Response `204`

The cancel request succeeded. (No-content)

## Other responses

- `404`: The journal is not found.
- `422`: The journal is not in the pending status.
