# Delete account

`DELETE /v2/partition/{partitionId}/account/{accountId}`

Use to delete an account. An account that has telephonenumbers or in progress lifecycle events cannot be deleted. Refer to <a href="#/~operation/Telephone%20Number/">Telephone Numbers</a> for information on how to remove telephone numbers.

## Other responses

- `400`: Account cannot be deleted due to in progress lifecycle events
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `404`: Account or Partition not found.
- `500`: Unknown issue has occurred.
