# Emails the signed-in user a link that permanently deletes their account

`POST /v1/user/me/initiate-deletion`

## Other responses

- `400`: The account or a team deleted with it has credits and the forfeit was not acknowledged (`forfeit_acknowledgement_required`)
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Requested with an API key instead of a signed-in session (`session_required`)
- `404`: Account deletion is not available
- `409`: The account or a team deleted with it has active deployments (`active_deployments`), or the account is the last owner of a team others belong to (`last_owner`)
- `429`: A link was sent less than a minute ago (`account_deletion_cooldown`)
