# Set a monthly budget for a project of the active organization

`POST /v1/project-budgets`

## Request

  - API key in header `x-api-key`

    - `monthlyAmountUsd` number, required: Committed spend allowed per calendar month (UTC), in USD (1 to 10000000, cents at most)
    - `alertThresholdPercent` integer: Share of the monthly amount at which owners and admins are notified, once per month. Defaults to 80
    - `stopTopUps` boolean: Whether top-ups of the project's running deployments, manual or automatic, also stop at the budget. Defaults to false

## Other responses

- `400`: The budget settings are not valid
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Only owners and admins can change project budgets
- `404`: No project with this id in the caller's reach
- `409`: The project already has a budget (`project_budget_exists`)
