# Check that a custom plugin file can be installed on a service without connector class conflicts

`POST /project/{project}/service/{service_name}/validate-custom-plugin-classes`

## Request

Validates the `custom_plugins` configuration the service would have if the plugin file were installed on it: the file replaces any other version of the same plugin already configured and is added to the other configured plugins. Nothing is changed on the service. Fails if a connector class of the plugin file is already provided by a managed connector or by another plugin configured on the service.

  - `plugin_file_id` string, required: ID of the custom plugin file to check against the service.

## Response `200`

- ServiceKafkaConnectValidateCustomPluginClassesResponse: ServiceKafkaConnectValidateCustomPluginClassesResponse
  - `valid` boolean, required: Always true: a plugin file that cannot be installed on the service is reported as an error.
