# Delete a chapter or scene

`DELETE /stories/{id}/chapters/{chapterId}`

## Request

Irreversible. The first call always fails with `confirmation_required`; retry with `confirm: true` to actually delete.

Deleted.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing, malformed, invalid, revoked, or expired token.
- `403`: The token lacks the scope this endpoint requires.
- `404`: The resource does not exist or you do not own it.
- `409`: Destructive action needs `confirm: true` to proceed, or the resource changed since you last read it.
- `429`: Too many requests. Retry after the delay in the `Retry-After` header.
