# Create a RID Sensor

`POST /nis/rid-sensors`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://localhost:8486`
- URL: `http://localhost:8486/nis/rid-sensors`
- Auth: API key in header `x-auth-token`

Registers a Scout sensor by SSN. Generate service accounts separately for HTTP Basic auth.

## Request body

- CreateRidSensorDTO: RID Sensor create payload
  - `ssn` string, required
  - `description` string

## Response `201`

RID Sensor created

- RidSensorDTO: RID Sensor metadata. Service-account secrets are never returned here.
  - `id` integer
  - `ssn` string
  - `description` string
  - `createdAt` string, date-time
  - `updatedAt` string, date-time

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation failed
- `500`: Internal server error
