# Create parent team

`POST /teams/createParentTeam`

## Request

  - Client credentials
  - Token URL: `https://app.aikido.io/api/oauth/token` scopes: `teams:write`

Create a new parent team and link it to the provided child teams. Parent teams aggregate the responsibilities of their child teams. Unknown child team IDs are ignored.

## Request body

- object
  - `name` string, required: The name of the parent team.
  - `child_team_ids` integer[], required: The IDs of the child teams to link to this parent team. Unknown IDs are ignored.

## Response `200`

The parent team has been successfully created

- object
  - `id` integer: The ID of the newly created parent team in Aikido.

## Other responses

- `400`: Parent teams are not enabled for this account, or one or more of the provided fields are invalid.
