# Send a test notification for an existing alert

`POST /dashboard/api/alerts/{id}/test`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.agnost.ai`
- URL: `https://api.agnost.ai/dashboard/api/alerts/{id}/test`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer and API key in header `x-org-id`
  - API key in header `x-api-key`

Fires the alert's notification action immediately, with sample/test
context, so the user can verify the wiring (Slack channel, email
recipients, message format) without waiting for the next scheduled
evaluation.
