# Dm Ensure

`POST /api/social/dm/ensure`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.agentstack.tech` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Ensure a private DM channel exists with the peer. Fails with 403 when
``can_initiate_dm`` rejects (e.g. ``dm_policy_friends_only`` without friendship).

## Headers

- `Idempotency-Key` string

## Request body

- DmEnsureBody: Open or create a 1:1 DM channel (subject to recipient ``dm_policy``).
  - `peer_user_id` integer, required
  - `home_project_id` integer
