# Turn the artifact's public link on or off \[write\]

`POST /artifacts/{id}/share`

## Request

Private execution-generated notes do not support this public-sharing operation. For task artifacts, the link needs no credentials and always serves the current revision. Published pages are served sandboxed: their scripts cannot read the platform's cookies or call its API as the visitor. Turning sharing off makes the link stop working; turning it on again gives a new link.
