# Remove an artifact \[write\]

`DELETE /artifacts/{id}`

## Request

It stops being listed and its public link stops working. Publishing under the same name in the task afterwards brings it back with the next version number. Execution-generated notes use the same current management authority, retire their canonical projection and cannot be reopened by late metadata recovery.
