# Comment on an artifact or reply to a comment \[write\]

`POST /artifacts/{id}/comments`

## Request

- URL: `https://api.agentsky.dev/v1/artifacts/{id}/comments`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

The server binds the authenticated author, current revision and timestamp. parent_id must name a comment in this artifact at base_version. 409 on stale revision or the 1000-entry limit. Appends do not publish or start an agent. This operation is not idempotent: after an uncertain response, read the discussion before deciding whether to resubmit.
