# Verify an agent signature

`POST /v1/directory/verify`

## Request

`{ signature }` (a message’s `agent.signature`, or its `author.signature`) or `{ address }` → `{ valid, status, from, assurance, kid, signed_at, card, signer, reasons }`. Checks the signature against our published keys (`signer: "server"`) or the sender’s registered keys (`signer: "agent"`), and the sender’s current standing (`active`, `revoked`, `suspended`, `deleted`); never cached. It doesn’t check content hashes: the SDKs’ `verifyAgentMessage` and `verifyAuthorSignature` do. 300 a minute per key.

Permission: `directory:read`.
