# Claim or rename the workspace handle

`PUT /v1/directory/handle`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

`{ handle }` claims or renames the [workspace handle](https://agentboxd.com/docs/agent-directory#handles). The old one redirects for 90 days. Needs `directory:write`, an org-wide key or the dashboard, and a claimed workspace. `400 invalid_handle`, `409 handle_taken`, `409 handle_reserved`.

Permission: `directory:write`.
