# Escalate Rate Limit

`POST /api/v1/safety/hardening/escalate-rate-limit`

## Request

Temporarily reduce an entity's rate limit multiplier. Admin only.

Sets a Redis key that the rate limiter checks to apply a throttle
multiplier to the target entity for the specified duration.

- `x-api-key` string, nullable

- EscalateRateLimitRequest
  - `entity_id` string, required: Entity to throttle
  - `duration_hours` integer, required: Duration of escalated rate limit in hours (max 30 days)
  - `reason` string, required: Reason for rate limit escalation
