# Agent Heartbeat

`POST /api/v1/agents/{agent_id}/heartbeat`

## Request

Record an agent heartbeat. Authenticated via API key or JWT.

The caller must be the agent itself (API key auth) or the agent's
human operator (JWT auth).  Optionally accepts a status string
(``active``, ``busy``, or ``maintenance``).

  - `status` string, nullable: Agent status: active, busy, or maintenance
