# List the 54 countries with currency and coverage per feature

`GET /v1/countries`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.africacompliancedata.com`
- URL: `https://api.africacompliancedata.com/v1/countries`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

On Free and Starter, coverage lists only the holiday features.

## Response `200`

Countries

- object
  - `countries` CountrySummary[]
    - `iso2` string
    - `name` string
    - `currency` string
    - `coverage` object: Per feature: holidays, holiday_announcements, vat, wht, tin_format, filing_deadlines, vat_history, treaties, finance_law (Free and Starter: holiday features only)
  - `years` integer[]: First and last year covered
  - `dataset_version` string
  - `disclaimer` string

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Key paused for review after unusual bulk access ('Access paused')
- `429`: Rate limit for the plan exceeded, or key checks busy (many new keys from your network); see Retry-After
- `503`: Key check temporarily unavailable, or webhook storage unavailable (webhook endpoints); retry after Retry-After seconds
