# Send a test event

`POST /v1/finder/webhook_endpoints/{id}/test`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.affiliaterail.com`
- URL: `https://api.affiliaterail.com/v1/finder/webhook_endpoints/{id}/test`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Sends one sample event to the endpoint now, once, and says what came back. It's marked `livemode: false` and isn't retried. It lands in the delivery log like any other.

**Scope:** `finder:write`

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required: Prefixed id (`fwe_…`)

## Request body

- FinderWebhookTest
  - `event_type` string: Any event from the catalogue. Defaults to the endpoint's first event, or `search.completed`.

## Response `200`

What the one attempt did

- FinderWebhookTestResult
  - `object` 'finder_webhook_test', required
  - `delivery_id` string, required: Prefixed id (`fwd_…`)
  - `outcome` string, required: `delivered`, `failed`, `retry`, `skipped` or `pending`. A test is never retried.
  - `response_status` integer, nullable, required

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request
- `401`: Missing or unknown API key
- `402`: The organization's Recruit Affiliates plan does not include the API
- `403`: Key lacks the required scope
- `404`: No such object in your organization
- `409`: In conflict with the object's state, or the same idempotent request is still running
- `422`: The request was understood and refused
- `429`: Rate limited, by key or by organization: see Retry-After and X-RateLimit-Scope
- `501`: Not available to a test key (`sandbox_no_send`)
