# Read creators into a clone profile

`POST /v1/finder/searches/clone-profile`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.affiliaterail.com`
- URL: `https://api.affiliaterail.com/v1/finder/searches/clone-profile`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Clone your best affiliates, step one. Send one to ten creators you already rate, as links or as your own prospects, and get back what they have in common: topics, audience, formats, brands they promote, size and hashtags. Free: no credit is spent.

Check the profile, edit it if you like, and send it to `POST /searches/clone`. If `searchable` is false the profile has nothing to search on, so add a topic, a brand or a hashtag first.

A test key reads nobody. It parses the links like a live key and answers a profile with only the platforms filled in.

Answers 404 `feature_off` while clone search isn't switched on for the deployment.

**Scope:** `finder:write`

## Request body

- FinderCloneProfileCreate
  - `brand_id` string: Which brand. Defaults to the organization's oldest.
  - `seeds` string[]: Links to creators you already rate, one per item: a website, a YouTube channel, an Instagram or TikTok profile, a newsletter or a podcast. A bare `@name` is refused, because it could be anyone on three platforms.
  - `prospect_ids` string[]: Or pick them from your own prospects. Ten creators at most, pasted and picked together.

## Response `200`

The creators read and their profile

- FinderCloneProfile
  - `object` 'finder_clone_profile', required
  - `seeds` FinderCloneSeed[], required: The creators read, at most ten
    - `kind` 'website' | 'youtube' | 'instagram' | 'tiktok' | 'newsletter' | 'podcast', required
    - `key` string, required: The stable key: a host, a lower-case handle, a YouTube channel ref or a podcast id
    - `url` string, required: A link a person can open
    - `label` string, required: What the app calls them
    - `prospect_id` string, nullable, required: Set when the creator came from `prospect_ids`, not a pasted link
  - `rejected` object[], required: Lines that aren't a creator we can read, and why
    - `line` string, required
    - `message` string, required
  - `warning` string, nullable, required: Advice on the number of creators: three to seven works best
  - `unread` string[], required: Labels of creators we couldn't read. The profile is written from the rest.
  - `searchable` boolean, required: False when the profile has no topic, brand or hashtag, so a search would find nothing. Edit it before you start one.
  - `profile` FinderCloneProfileBody, required
    - `topics` string[], required: Two to six things they make content about, in the words a viewer would search. Each one becomes a website and a YouTube search.
    - `audience` string, required: Who watches or reads them, in one line
    - `formats` string[], required: Reviews, tutorials, comparisons and so on
    - `platforms` string[], required
    - `brands` object[], required: Brands they already promote. The search also looks for others who promote them.
      - `name` string, required
      - `domain` string, nullable, required
    - `size_band` 'nano' | 'micro' | 'mid' | 'macro' | 'mixed' | 'unknown', required: nano is under 10k followers, micro 10k to 100k, mid 100k to 1m, macro over 1m
    - `language` string, required: Two-letter language code
    - `hashtags` string[], required: Without the #. Each one becomes an Instagram and TikTok search.
