# Validate a sequencer API key

`POST /api/v1/domain-burn/validate-api-key`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.aerosend.io`
- URL: `https://api.aerosend.io/api/v1/domain-burn/validate-api-key`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Checks the key with the sequencer without storing it. Returns `valid: false` for a rejected key.

## Request body

- SequencerApiKeyRequest: Sequencer API key to validate or connect
  - `sequencer` string, required: Sequencer: smartlead or instantly
  - `api_key` string, required: Sequencer API key
  - `account_name` string: Optional label for this sequencer account

## Response `200`

Validation result

  - `success` boolean: Success flag
  - `data` ApiKeyValidation: Result of validating a sequencer API key
    - `sequencer` string
    - `valid` boolean

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized - Invalid or expired API key
