# Create new permits linked to a recurring contract.

`POST /createPermit`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://pal-test.adyen.com/pal/servlet/Recurring/v67`

- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Create permits for a recurring contract, including support for defining restrictions.

## Request body

- CreatePermitRequest
  - `merchantAccount` string, required: The merchant account identifier, with which you want to process the transaction.
  - `permits` Permit[], required: The permits to create for this recurring contract.
    - `partnerId` string: Partner ID (when using the permit-per-partner token sharing model).
    - `profileReference` string: The profile to apply to this permit (when using the shared permits model).
    - `restriction` PermitRestriction
      - `maxAmount` Amount
        - `currency` string, required: The three-character [ISO currency code](https://docs.adyen.com/development-resources/currency-codes#currency-codes) of the amount.
        - `value` integer, required: The numeric value of the amount, in [minor units](https://docs.adyen.com/development-resources/currency-codes#minor-units).
      - `singleTransactionLimit` Amount
        - `currency` string, required: The three-character [ISO currency code](https://docs.adyen.com/development-resources/currency-codes#currency-codes) of the amount.
        - `value` integer, required: The numeric value of the amount, in [minor units](https://docs.adyen.com/development-resources/currency-codes#minor-units).
      - `singleUse` boolean: Only a single payment can be made using this permit if set to true, otherwise multiple payments are allowed.
    - `resultKey` string: The key to link permit requests to permit results.
    - `validTillDate` string, date-time: The expiry date for this permit.
  - `recurringDetailReference` string, required: The recurring contract the new permits will use.
  - `shopperReference` string, required: The shopper's reference to uniquely identify this shopper (e.g. user ID or account ID).

## Response `200`

OK - the request has succeeded.

- CreatePermitResult
  - `permitResultList` PermitResult[]: List of new permits.
    - `resultKey` string: The key to link permit requests to permit results.
    - `token` string: The permit token which is used to make payments by the partner company.
  - `pspReference` string: A unique reference associated with the request. This value is globally unique; quote it when communicating with us about this request.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request - a problem reading or understanding the request.
- `401`: Unauthorized - authentication required.
- `403`: Forbidden - insufficient permissions to process the request.
- `422`: Unprocessable Entity - a request validation error.
- `500`: Internal Server Error - the server could not process the request.
