# Logout

`POST /api/auth/logout`

Clear the HttpOnly app_token session cookie (slice 26).

Since the token cookie is HttpOnly it cannot be cleared from JavaScript, so
logout must round-trip to the server. Path/SameSite must match the set so the
browser actually drops it. No auth required — clearing your own session is
always safe and idempotent.
