# Add keywords to a project

`POST /projects/{project_id}/keywords`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://adslighthouse.com/api/v1`

Adds up to 20 search terms to a project. The optional country and language apply to every new keyword in this call and default to the project's market; existing terms are skipped and keep their saved market. New keywords count toward the plan's keyword limit and this month's keyword allowance, and are checked on the project's schedule; no check starts immediately. Requires the write scope.

## Path parameters

- `project_id` string, required: The project: its id, its brand domain (for example nike.example) or its exact project or brand name. Unknown or ambiguous references return not_found; call list_projects then.

## Request body

- object
  - `keywords` string[], required: Search terms to add, up to 20 per call. Existing terms are skipped.
  - `country` string: ISO country code. Defaults to the project's country.
  - `language` string: Search language. Defaults to the project's language.

## Response `200`

Add keywords to a project

  - `added` integer, required
  - `skipped` integer, required: Terms that already existed.
  - `request_id` string

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid parameters, cursor or body.
- `401`: Missing, invalid, expired or revoked credential.
- `403`: The credential lacks the write scope, the plan does not include the API, or the allowance is used up.
- `404`: Unknown project, keyword or run in this account.
- `409`: The idempotency key was already used for a different request.
- `429`: Rate limit reached. Retry after the Retry-After seconds.
- `503`: The requested service or file is temporarily unavailable.
