# Clone a connection

`POST /api/v3/connections/{connectionId}/clone`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://fusion.adobe.io`
- URL: `https://fusion.adobe.io/api/v3/connections/{connectionId}/clone`
- Auth: HTTP bearer and API key in header `x-organization-id` and API key in header `x-api-key` and API key in header `x-gw-region`

Creates a new connection with the same credentials and settings as the source connection.

- `teamId` defaults to the source connection's team; `name` defaults to `"{source name} (clone)"`.
- Requires edit permission on the source connection and permission to add connections to the target team.
- The source connection is tested first; if the test fails, nothing is created and `400` is returned.
- External-system references (`extRefs`) are not copied.

## Request body

- CloneConnectionV3BodyDto
  - `teamId` integer: Target team for the clone. Defaults to the source connection's team; the caller must have permission to add connections to the resolved team.
  - `name` string: Name for the cloned connection. Defaults to `"{source name} (clone)"`.

## Response `201`

Connection cloned successfully. The `Location` header points to the new connection.

  - `id` number, required: ID of the cloned connection.
  - `name` string, required: Name of the cloned connection.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Authentication required
- `403`: Access denied
- `404`: Resource not found
- `500`: Server error
